Many people are excited about investing in battery-powered electric cars. A significant number of people in the auto industry believe that BEVs are going to be a long-term solution for travelers across the world. However, there remain several questions that are yet to be answered including issues regarding cost, range, and battery pack materials.
Researchers are trying to find the top solutions to these issues while many believe that these battery-powered EVs are just an interim solution and the market will be soon influenced by hydrogen power in the form of fuel cells.
Three big giants in the automobile industry – Hyundai, Honda and Toyota, are pionerring fuel cell plans as they have already used this idea for the limited production of hydrogen-powered vehicles. Many people in the market state that these recently introduced cars, Nexo, Clarity & Mirai are a good start in building out a green future. But, if you have a need for speed, then you would love to explore the spectacular N Vision 74 concept fuel cell muscle car from Hyundai which is now getting popularity.
The company is not planning to put this vehicle into production, however, it is gaining people’s attention across the world with aggressive design and 690 hp delivery through its real axle. This vehicle is able to smoke its rear tires while running sideways. Quickly, N Vision 74 has gained huge appreciation online. The manufacturers have worked on every part of its body and there is a well-designed prototype powertrain that was designed before converting this vehicle into a modern coupe.
Even though it looks like a Delorean DMC-12, at it’s core structure of the vehicle it is a Kia Stringer. As per Biermann, boss of the R&D group, the modification was carried out on four Stingers to create Mecha Protos. These Hyundai vehicles were created on existing cars with a goal to create a new high-output system with a combination of 85kW fuel cell and 62.4 kWh battery.
This combination sends power to the two 335-hp electric motors placed on the back to turn the rear wheels. The main idea behind this experiment was to develop a reliable system that could regulate the mechanism between two e-motors while maintaining a mechanical connection between axles.
Biermann also states that virtual differential is developed with software control and this task was a big challenge for the team of engineers. The current most powerful EV architecture of the company offers a 577-hp system with separate motors added for rear and front controls. If you’re like Mr. Toad looking for a wild ride, then look no further than the Hyundai N Vision 74 concept fuel cell.
