ecoVoyagerThe Chrysler ecoVoyager has just been unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The ecoVoyager combines a 45 kw fuel cell stack, 200 kw electric motor and lithium ion battery pack to navigate a range of over 300 miles.

You can find a full review of the Chrysler ecoVoyager on the main website. Now, I’m not sure whether Chrysler is pulling our legs, yanking our chains or giving us a swift elbow to the ribs on this one, but it is being reported in various outlets on the web that the ecoVoyager can run the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds. If true, then this is flat out flying, but this may be a little bit of auto show hype that will be taken back later when the dust has settled.

What also makes this figure suspect is that the Chrysler website says the ecoVoyager can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 8 seconds while the press materials state the figure at 8.8 seconds. Be that as it may, the Chrysler ecoVoyager is an exciting new hydrogen fuel cell concept car on the scene as it adds another vehicle to the list the break the 300 mile barrier, seen as essential to mass market a vehicle.

With sleek design, a powerful fuel cell and battery and comfortable bucket seats, the Chrysler ecoVoyager just may be the future of family vacations or long road trips for adults. And, with zero emissions, Chrysler’s mission has been accomplished.
