Last week, on July 30, the New York Hydrogen Expo had a Ride & Drive event where everyone who wanted to could drive several hydrogen cars. The New York Hydrogen Expo was part of the 2nd Annual New Energy Symposium sponsored by New Energy New York.
Over 450 attendees took part at the University at Albany event. Hydrogen cars were offered up for test-driving by BMW, General Motors, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota. U.S. Senator Charles Schumer was co-chair and a keynote speaker at the event.
Air Products Corporation supplied the fuel for the hydrogen cars with its mobile hydrogen refueling station. The mobile hydrogen refueling station is normally located at the State Capitol in Albany, and had to make a short trek to participate in this event.
